Just like the beautiful clouds above hold the heaviest of rains, and just as the brightest smile of any given person can cover your deepest pains, it is for the arrival of our guest Ramadhan, the month of The Quran, that Muslims do wait.
Ramadhan is the month Allah (SWT) fills with such blessings. It’s in this month where there is so much to gain. Every refrain is a gain. When the most halal of acts become haram, when the devils are locked up, why then should we not reap all there is to gain?
Seeking forgiveness, patience, and charity are values that keep us united. Our spiritual energies reach the skies.
When we rekindle our love for Allah (SWT). The Most High, and engage in worship to please our Creator, He gives from corners we never imagined.
All the Ummah recites with such Qira’ah. It is the Taraweeh that makes this month unique. Why, then, should we not open our hands and weep to Ar-Razzaq, the Ultimate Provider?
And whose Ramadhan feels empty without the pleasure of a deep-fried crisp samosa? When tables are filled with so many foods, little children reciting sweet innocent prayers, and taking iftars from one neighbor to another, how can I forget to mention the night of power the night of value, the night of destiny, the month in which The Quran was sent down?
The Night of Qadr when blessings and mercy of Allah (SWT) are in abundance, sins are forgiven, and supplications are answered. This is the night in which the annual decree is revealed.
As Ustadh Wahaj Tarin reminds us, “Whatever The Quran touches, Allah (SWT) blesses and honors. The night on which The Quran was revealed became the best of nights. The month on which The Quran was revealed became the best of months. The prophet on which The Quran was revealed became the best of Prophets. The angel through which The Quran was revealed became the best of angels. The nation on which The Quran was revealed became the best of nations. And if you let The Quran touch your life, you will become the best of this Ummah.”
The Prophet ﷺ said, “The best of you are those who learn The Quran and teach it to others.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
Why then should we not make the most of this month the most virtuous in our calendar?
I pray that as my studying journey continues, may Allah (SWT) forgive me first and foremost of my shortcomings, and then grant me the opportunity to have a deeper connection with my Quran and my Creator.
May I also be one of those amongst the Ummah who learns and teaches InshAllah.
